The Memory Palace is one of the oldest mnemonic systems used to organize memory impressions and enables speakers to memorize information creating spatial relations. There is evidence of this existing memory enhancement technique in ancient Greece and Rome documented in the early Rhetoric Treatises of Cicero and Quintilian, and reformulated in the Renaissance by Giordano Bruno. Despite the invention of devises like the printing press or mobile phones, the Memory Palace has survived to our days.
Palace is a devised singing, tap-dancing, physical theatre solo piece exploring the relationship between memory, identity and architecture.
